Fred Olsen’s cruise ship Braemar has completed her major refit and lengthening ready to recommence her cruise programme from Southampton.
Work on Braemar to insert a new mid section into the vessel began on 13th May in Hamburg. The mid section adds an extra 31.2 metres to the length meaning that more accommodation can be added making the total passenger capacity 968 from 727.
The transformation has also meant that a new dining facility can be added, a new pool area, a pool bar and an Observatory Lounge offering fantastic views. As part of the Arts Club programme a new arts and crafts room has also been added providing a more peaceful atmosphere.
Marketing director of Fred Olsen, Nigel Lingard said: “By lengthening and enhancing Braemar we have created space to carry more passengers on one of our most popular ships, but have retained that ‘small ship’ friendly feeling. I am confident that our regular customers will be delighted with the improvements we have made and we also look forward to welcoming many new faces aboard Braemar in the coming months.“
